Applications

PERSENTECH is developing personal sensor products and solutions for consumer and commercial consumption in three application areas: (1) Road Safety and Vehicle Diagnostic and Performance Monitoring, (2) Detection and Identification Networks, and (3) Search and Location Determination Networks.

PERSENTECH’s first product, Otto-driving companion, determines vehicle speed and position and alerts the driver when the vehicle exceeds a posted speed limit or when the vehicle approaches a potentially unsafe location that warrants heightened safety awareness. Such locations currently include Pedestrian Corridor Crosswalks, Red Light Camera controlled intersections, School Areas, Deer Crossings and Hazardous Intersections as determined by community-specific collision and injury statistics.

Otto-driving companion is a device designed to promote safe driving by complementing existing signage and electronic information. The driver of the vehicle maintains the full responsibility and competence to take an appropriate decision based on experience and the environmental conditions prevailing when using the device. PERSENTECH has also launched the OttoMobile™ application for the iPhone® and BlackBerry® smartphones. The application builds upon the core technologies developed for the Otto-driving companion® device that was launched in July of 2005. OttoMobile is an application for GPS-enabled iPhone and BlackBerry smartphones and is designed to be used while driving. Additional information can be accessed at www.myottomobile.com.
